Pingyao establishes chamber of commerce in Chengdu

A government delegation from Pingyao county in North China's Shanxi province visited Chengdu, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan province, on Aug 25-27. 

The visit was aimed at learning about the advanced administrative and urban development concepts being put into practice in Chengdu, while also promoting cultural tourism to the Ancient City of Pingyao, exchanging administration work methods, promoting ways of attracting investment, and discussing other potential forms of cooperation. 

During the visit, the delegation witnessed a ceremony marking the launch of the Pingyao Chamber of Commerce in Chengdu, which was held in Jinniu district on Aug 25. 

Wei Jiangfeng, Party chief of Pingyao county, said at the ceremony that Pingyao is one of the important birthplaces of Shanxi merchants, and Pingyao-born entrepreneurs rooted in Jinniu district have not only contributed to the district’s development, but also brought glory to Pingyao. 

Jinniu district is a national demonstration area for sustainable development, the best international business environment urban area, and the best talent attraction urban area in China. 

Ren Jibin, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jinniu District Committee, welcomed the Pingyao delegation and congratulated the chamber of commerce on its establishment. He said he hoped Pingyao and Jinniu can continue to strengthen their communication and cooperation and promote mutually beneficial endeavors. 

At the launch ceremony, Shanxi Pingyao Rural Commercial Bank signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Pingyao Chamber of Commerce in Jinniu district.

The Chengdu Jinniu Federation of Industry and Commerce also signed a friendly relationship agreement with the Pingyao Federation of Industry and Commerce. 

So far, there are nearly 5,000 people from Pingyao doing business and starting their own businesses in Chengdu, with more than 1,000 Pingyao-owned enterprises and individual businesses having registered there. Over 200 enterprises and individual businesses have joined the Pingyao Chamber of Commerce in Jinniu district.
