Pingyao holds ceremony for International Film Festival winners

The awards ceremony for the sixth Pingyao International Film Festival was held in Pingyao county, North China's Shanxi province, on Jan 17.

At the event, the winners of the Work-in-progress Lab and Pingyao Project Promotion in the market category were announced, with monetary prizes totaling 1.5 million yuan ($221,000). 

New Spring, directed by Sun Ming, was honored as the Shanxi Wenfengjiaohua Best Film Project in the Work-in-progress Lab, while Choy Ji won the JD Best Director Award in the Work-in-progress Lab for the film Borrowed Time

Zhang Jifu, head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Shanxi Provincial Committee, expressed support for the Pingyao International Film Festival at the event. He said that Shanxi will, as always, support the festival and promote the high-quality development of the cultural industry in the province. 

The sixth Pingyao International Film Festival was held in the Ancient City of Pingyao from Jan 14 to 19. A total of 37 domestic and international films were showcased during the festival.
