Pingyao strengthens partnerships with universities

An agreement signing and nameplate awarding ceremony on county-school cooperation was held in Pingyao county, North China's Shanxi province, on Sept 14. 

At the ceremony, Pingyao county's government signed a cooperation agreement on the protection of the Ancient City of Pingyao with Tongji University based in East China's Shanghai. 

Meanwhile, Pingyao Huagu Sketching Research Culture Co signed a cooperation agreement with Taiyuan University of Technology on establishing a sketching practice teaching center at the university. 

Pingyao Huaxing Motor Foundry Co and Pingyao Tongmiao Locomotive Co respectively signed an industry-university-research cooperation agreement with Taiyuan University of Science and Technology. 

Nameplates for the sketching practice teaching center at Taiyuan University of Technology and the undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship practice center at Taiyuan University of Science and Technology were handed out at the ceremony.

Wei Jiangfeng, Party secretary of Pingyao county, said that in recent years Pingyao has linked the high-quality resources of colleges and universities and promoted the smooth implementation of a number of innovative projects. 

He added that the county would set up a special team to fully ensure the smooth construction of cooperation projects and help talent carry out innovation and entrepreneurship. 

In recent years, Pingyao has continued to strengthen connections with colleges and universities inside and outside the province and expand cooperation. So far, Pingyao has cooperated with 24 universities, jointly establishing 32 centers and introducing 33 cooperation projects. 

Next, it will promote in-depth strategic cooperation with universities in the training and recruitment of talent.
