The number of tourists to the Ancient City of Pingyao in Pingyao county, North China's Shanxi province, continued to rise during this summer vacation.
Since mid-July, the Ancient City of Pingyao has received about 10,000 visits every day, and the number reached about 15,000 on holidays.
To cope with the increase in tourists, Pingyao Ancient City Scenic Area Management Co has sent more staff members to key places such as entrances and major scenic spots, and further improved service facilities.
The company continued to allow visits by appointment, sterilize important areas, and remind tourists to wear masks and practice social distancing.
Tourists from all over the country admired the ancient city, experienced the traditional culture, appreciated the ancient structures, and tasted local snacks.
"The ancient city is a fine example of Han civilization and the visiting encourages children to learn more about the wisdom of the ancients," said a visitor from East China's Anhui province, who was amazed by the well-preserved urban planning and architecture from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.
