Pingyao listed in top 100 national counties with strongest tourism

Pingyao county in North China's Shanxi province recently was listed 70th among national top 100 counties with the strongest tourism in 2022, as announced by China Culture Daily.

The evaluation was made based on 35 indicators in six aspects - level of tourism economic development, the promotion role of the government, the comprehensive driving function of the tourism industry, tourism development and environmental protection, tourism facilities and services, and tourism quality and market regulation, and the top 100 were selected from among 1,866 counties across the country.

In recent years, relying on local historical and cultural resources, Pingyao has built a large platform for the interactive development of culture, tourism and industries, continued to promote the integration and development of culture and tourism, upgraded cultural tourism public services, and standardized the cultural tourism market order.

This year, Pingyao will coordinate tourism development, management, and cultural relics protection, promote Pingyao beef, polished Pingyao lacquerware and Pingyao mature vinegar, and explore new path toward high-quality cultural tourism integration.
