Pingyao Makeshift Hospital to serve epidemic control efforts

Government officials of Pingyao county in North China's Shanxi province investigated the construction of the Pingyao Makeshift Hospital on April 12.

The makeshift hospital is a complete mobile medical platform that integrates medical services and medical technology support, which has played an important role in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic in recent years.

Wei Jiangfeng, Party secretary of Pingyao, requested that the construction of the makeshift hospital be accelerated, and that the setting of key areas and passages, supporting water, electricity, sewage discharge, ventilation, communications and firefighting equipment be fully considered so as to further enhance Pingyao's emergency response capabilities against the epidemic and ensure local residents' health and safety.

The Pingyao Makeshift Hospital covers an area of more than 1,600 square meters. Its centralized treatment venue mainly consists of a cleaning area, bed areas, dressing rooms, disinfection rooms, and infirmaries. It will be able to accommodate more than 200 beds.

So far, all indoor partitions have been installed and the overall project is expected to be finished before April 15.
