Pingyao People's Congress holds annual session

The second session of the 17th Pingyao People's Congress was held on Feb 8 and 9 in Pingyao county, North China's Shanxi province, with some 230 deputies attending.
Feng Yuquan, head of Pingyao county, delivered a report on the county government's work achievements in 2021.
The work report also set new targets for Pingyao in 2022 in six major aspects including rural revitalization, industrial cluster development, integration of culture and tourism, urban and rural construction, and people's living standards and social undertakings.
For the economic sector, Pingyao aims to generate 13.8 billion yuan ($2.18 billion) in GDP in the current year and realize a year-on-year growth of 8 percent. The per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents will increase by 8 percent and 8.5 percent to 39,106 yuan and 16,918 yuan respectively.
Deputies examined the report on how the 2021 national economic and social development plan was implemented by the Pingyao county government and the 2022 national economic and social development draft plan.
In addition, both the overall budget revenue of Pingyao in 2021 and the draft budget in 2022 were reviewed during the two-day session.
