Pingyao International Film Festival award nominees screened in Beijing

An extension event of the fifth Pingyao International Film Festival was held in Beijing on Jan 8-9. 

Four international films Feathers, What Do We See When We Look at the Sky?, White Building and Playground were screened at the China Film Archive over the course of two days. 

The four films, produced in Egypt, Georgia, Cambodia, and Belgium, were shortlisted for the awards of the Crouching Tiger section of the fifth Pingyao International Film Festival held in Pingyao county in North China's Shanxi province in October in 2021.

"It's our goal to bring excellent films from the Pingyao International Film Festival to other regions, so that as many people as possible can see them," said Jia Zhangke, founder of the film festival and famous Chinese filmmaker.

To date, the Pingyao International Film Festival has held activities in Paris, Munich, Milan, Beijing, and Shanghai to build a communication platform for filmmakers, domestic and foreign film industries, and audiences.
