Pingyao to vaccinate children against COVID-19

Pingyao county recently announced that it will begin vaccinating local children aged 3 to 11. 

According to requirements, children aged 3 to 11 must be accompanied by a legal guardian during the entire vaccination process. In principle, both children and their legal guardians must be informed, sign a consent form, and be present during the vaccination.

Liu Weimei, head of the epidemiology department of the Pingyao Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said that the process is basically the same as vaccination for adults, and a full round of vaccination still consists of two doses. 

Various training sessions and special personnel have been arranged, and each vaccination site will be overseen by professional medical workers with emergency protocol to ensure the safety of vaccinated children, said Gao Haiyan, director of the pediatrics department at Pingyao People's Hospital. 

Vaccinations for children aged 3 to 11 are expected to be finished before the end of December.
