In recent years, Mugua village has been developing its own agriculture and has formed a high-quality apple plantation covering an area of over 153 hectares. Unique local geographical advantages give the apples a bright color, a large size, and high sugar content, thus selling well across China.
To further improve the quality of fruit trees and increase farmers' incomes, the village has established a long-term cooperative relationship with Shanxi Agricultural University, introducing advanced technology and improving the planting model.
The annual output of fruit trees in the village has steadily increased to 3 million kilograms, bringing in more than 4.5 million yuan ($698,125.31) of income for local villagers.
Hou Anchang, a top official of Mugua village, said that the village would continue to improve its varieties, enlarge and strengthen the apple industry, increase sales channels for farmers, and further increase farmers' incomes.
