University-firm cooperation helps Pingyao firms grow

Shanxi Pingyao Reduction Devices Co, a high-tech enterprise specializing in the R&D, manufacture, and sale of various reduction devices based in Pingyao county, has continuously strengthened cooperation with universities and focused on talent cultivation for local development. 

Since the 1990s, the company has been promoting school-enterprise cooperation projects, and has reached cooperation agreements with more than 10 colleges and universities, including Taiyuan University of Technology and Chongqing University. 

From practical training to specific project research and development, the company has provided a comprehensive learning platform for college students, introduced talent, and carried out cooperation in scientific research and technological innovation.

According to Liang Xinwen, chairman of the company, over 1,000 undergraduates and postgraduates have come to the company for internships annually, and the company has introduced technology and professors to improve the professionalism of technicians and increase their enthusiasm for technological patent innovation through university-company cooperation. 

University-company partnerships and continuous talent input have in turn offered strong intelligence support to the company's steady development. 

"The joint product data management project with Taiyuan University of Technology this year has helped the company replace imported deceleration repair technology and select reducer lubricants for our company," said Wen Shiming, an engineer at the company. 

Shanxi Pingyao Reduction Devices Co currently has 67 new patents, and has become the postgraduate innovation base of Shanxi province and the postgraduate innovation base of Taiyuan University of Technology. 

The continuous improvement of its corporate reputation has attracted an increasing number of talents. 

The company will rely on university-company cooperation to increase its competitiveness and technical skill and contribute more to Pingyao county's socioeconomic development, said Liang.
