Pingyao enhances urban, rural living environment

Pingyao county in North China's Shanxi province recently launched a major campaign to improve the quality of its urban and rural environment.

To create a clean, tidy, safe and orderly living environment, Pingyao has taken measures across nine categories.

The county has been demolishing illegal or unsightly structures, blocking illegal sewage outlets, fixing loopholes in production safety and the tourism industry, punishing and managing illegally parked vehicles caused by peddlers. 

It has also been enhancing the urban and rural transportation network, improving the travel environment, maintaining the order of production and life, greening major urban streets and national, provincial and county roads, and beautifying the rural environment.

Further sanitation work targeting roads, rivers, offices, enterprises and infrastructure has also been promoted. 

In addition, Pingyao has been improving tourism services to create a better image of the county.
