Pingyao county casts its net further afield with job fair

A special job fair for leading companies and businesses in Taizhou city in East China's Zhejiang province was held on May 11 in Pingyao county, North China's Shanxi province.

The initiative was regarded as an important measure undertaken by Pingyao's authorities to make contact with large and medium-sized cities and employers outside Shanxi, in order to expand the employment channels of Pingyao residents and improve their employment prospects. 

The job fair was sponsored by the human resources and social security bureaus of Taizhou city, Jinzhong city and Pingyao county. 

A total of 72 enterprises from Taizhou and Pingyao took part in the fair, offering 373 positions in the fields of science and technology, culture, real estate, construction, education and training, hotel management, business and finance.

Staff members from the Pingyao bureau of human resources and social security set up consultation desks. They distributed publicity materials, handed out information on labor security laws and regulations to job seekers and other interested people. 

They also fielded questions about labor disputes and legal aid applications, so as to help migrant workers learn about their individual legal rights and protection of their interests.
