Hengpo Ancient Village -- located 15 kilometers south of the Ancient City of Pingyao -- is one of most beautiful tourist villages in North China's Shanxi province and is also a provincial 3A-rated rural tourism demonstration village.

The village is widely known for its rich tourism resources, with a unique natural and cultural landscape. 

Boasting a pristine environmental and ecological system and abundant forest vegetation, the ancient mountain village has been preserved intact and the local folk customs are simple. 

In recent years, Hengpo ancient village has developed a number of facilities, such as a cave dwellings culture museum, a cave tourist hotel and a children's theme park. 

In addition, the village has staged a Beautiful Rural Cultural Festival over four consecutive years -- as well as two annual rural photography events and light shows three times -- which have become highlights for rural tourism in Pingyao county.
