Pingyao moves to improve education infrastructure

Pingyao county in North China's Shanxi province has been furthering the balanced development of its basic education infrastructure and optimizing the allocation of educational resources during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20). 

During the period, Pingyao continued to increase investment in education, improve the administration of schools and expand their upgrading. 

Libraries, laboratories, teaching and accommodation facilities, as well as the personal counselling facilities of three local high schools were upgraded. 

The county has renovated and expanded 15 primary and secondary schools, renovated the kitchens and canteens of 67 boarding schools, upgraded biomass and natural gas boilers in 132 schools and equipped 25 schools with water dispensers.
