New rural farm produce market opens in Pingyao

A new farm produce market in Xibuyi village in Pingyao county, located in North China's Shanxi province, opened its doors for business on Nov 25. 

The market is one of Pingyao's projects to develop and expand the village-level collective economy and stimulate rural vitality during the current year. 

Jointly developed by Xibuyi and Liangjiatan villages, the market costs 2.3 million yuan ($349,638) in investment and features more than 200 stalls and shops covering 300 square meters. 

It has resolved traffic congestion in the Xibuyi section of the road connecting Beichang and Dongquan villages and has formed a comprehensive agricultural product distribution center that serves the surrounding areas. 

As a result, Xibuyi and Liangjiatan villages are projected to generate 60,000 yuan in annual revenue and create jobs for 500 people.
