Pingyao reports economic performance

Industrial enteprises in Pingyao county in North China's Shanxi province reported solid results in the first 10 months of the year against the backdrop of the economic impact of the novel coronavirus. 

The county's 62 industrial enterprises above a designated size – those with annual revenue of more than 20 million yuan ($3.04 million) – generated 11.38 billion yuan in revenue in total between January and October, representing a year-on-year decrease of 9.9 percent.

Companies in the coal and coking industry posted total revenue during the same period of 4.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 28.7 percent. 

However, companies in the mechanical casting industry posted combined revenue of 1.21 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.9 percent, and those in the agricultural and associated processing industry generated total revenue of 3.83 billion yuan, up 15.2 percent year-on-year.
