Cultural television program filmed in Pingyao

A cultural television program called Visiting Shanxi and Reading History -- jointly organized by Shanxi Department of Culture and Tourism as well as Shanxi Radio and Television Station -- recently finished filming in Pingyao county in North China's Shanxi province. 

The 10-episode program tells the history of Shanxi through field trips and interviews. Most of the iconic and representative scenic spots in Shanxi were selected for shooting.

This will provide the audience with a window into the charms of the province while learning the stories behind its cultural relics, ancient architecture and arts, as well as the fascinating history of Shanxi's merchants through the program.

During the filming schedule in Pingyao, historical and cultural scholar Meng Man, tour guide Zhang Xiaoxu and famous host of Shanxi Satellite TV Ma Jun visited the Xietongqing Exchange Shop Museum, Pingyao Jieyiyuan Paper-cutting Art Center, Niangjia Vinegar Workshop and Dangdu Polished Lacuqerware Craft Museum, to show viewers the culture of the Shanxi merchants.
