Pingyao marks day against drug abuse, illicit trafficking

Pingyao county in North China's Shanxi province held a themed promotions event on June 23 to mark the upcoming International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking which falls on June 26 each year, according to local officials. 

They said that the event distributed promotion materials to the public and it helped to spread the knowledge about drugs.

It put a spotlight on drug hazards, displaying different types of drug molds, deepening people's understanding of drugs and improving their ability to identify drugs.

Fan Yaohong, director of Pingyao public security bureau, emphasized the need to increase promotions to guide young people to cherish life and stay away from drugs and improve the ability of the public to prevent drug abuse.
