Herbal tea processing project signed in Pingyao

A signing ceremony for an exciting herbal tea fine finishing and deep processing project was held in Pingyao county in North China's Shanxi province on May 29, according to local officials. 

The Management Committee of the Pingyao Economic and Technological Development Zone signed the framework agreement with Shanxi Pingyao Traditional Tea Biotechnology Co at the ceremony, in order to develop the project together.

With a total investment of 300 million yuan ($42.14 million), the project includes a Chinese herbal tea research center, a Chinese herbal medicine planting base, a herbal tea production facility and a herbal tea culture park which cover 5 hectares. 

The project is expected to offer 300 positions, help employ 100 rural laborers and generate 2 million yuan in annual taxes when it is completed within the next two years.
