Pingyao furthers rural revitalization in 2020

Pingyao county which is administered by the prefecture-level city of Jinzhong city -- in North China's Shanxi province -- will further promote its work in rural revitalization in the current year, according to this year's local government work report.

The report said the county will focus on aspects of rural industries, improving the standard of living and villager incomes. 

It will highlight featured agricultural activities and boost industry in the local rural areas. A 66-hectare greenhouse will be constructed this year. The county will also renovate and expand 10 farms for breeding livestock and poultry in local communities and upgrade 100 family farms.

To improve the rural standard of living, Pingyao county will draw up development plans for 16 demonstration villages and those need environment treatment.

Rural public toilet renovation, rural waste disposal and agricultural pollution controls and prevention in Pingyao will be improved. A total of 20 villages in 10 towns in the county will improve their drinking water safety. In addition, the main stream of the Fenhe River through the county will be further treated and the environment along rural roads will be greened for another 100 kilometers. 

Under the plan, to increase farmers' incomes, Pingyao will maximize the activation of rural resource assets, strengthen the village-level collective economy and increase farmers' property incomes. The county plans to train more than 10,000 farmers to upgrade their agricultural skills.

Moreover, Pingyao will complete certification for two kinds of green food and five pollution-free agricultural products, cultivate one new functional agricultural product and further facilitate matchmaking between the tourism consumption market and local agricultural producers.
