Pingyao carries out fire rescue drill for cultural relics

Jinzhong fire department carried out a fire drill targeting cultural relics and ancient buildings at Shuanglin Temple Colored Sculpture Art Museum in Pingyao county on April 12. 

Local officials said the drill was an important test for Pingyao, a county in Jinzhong city in North China's Shanxi province.

The drill involved exercises such as the coordination of rescue forces, fire detection, fire controls, cultural relic transfers and search and rescue of trapped people in fires. 

Officials said 18 members from the fire rescue departments of Qixian, Jiexiu and Lingshi counties and three fire engines took part in the exercise. 

Fire rescue departments of companies and micro fire stations also participated in the drill, which was supported by the local medical and transport departments.
