Exhibition integrates fashion with tradition

A trendy exhibition featuring a combination of the fashions and folk customs of Chinese New Year is currently being staged in the Ancient City of Pingyao in Pingyao county in central Shanxi province, according to the organizers.

They said the exhibition aims to increase the public's understanding and recognition of traditional culture and national brands -- as well as to showcase young people's confidence and attitudes towards traditional Chinese culture.

It is designed with traditional Chinese, as well as trendy design elements and features a dozen exhibition areas.

The organizers said a series of immersive and interactive games and Chinese fashion-themed art installations is taking place, from the perspective of the millennial generation.

While passing down tradition, the exhibition also features a young and new image for Pingyao and promotes the popularity of Pingyao, the organizers said.

The exhibition is being jointly organized by Chinese fashion media brand JSTYLE and the Ancient City of Pingyao and will run to Feb 13.
