Economy maintains steady growth in Pingyao

Pingyao county's economy maintained steady development in 2019, according to a statement made by the Pingyao industry and information technology department on Dec 24. 

There are 50 industrial projects in the county, each of which has attracted more than 5 million yuan ($714,721), with a total investment of 11.3 billion yuan. As of the end of November, these projects had a total investment of 1.52 billion yuan in place.

From the perspective of industrial development, the coal, coking and agricultural byproducts processing industries maintained a high growth rate, which played a significant role in driving the county's industrial economy, officials said.

The Pingyao industry and information technology department stated that the county will focus on making up for the shortcomings in its industrial development and expand its investment. 

The department added that the country will next year further carry out business matchmaking, based on the preferential policies issued by Shanxi Transformation and Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone, to boost the vitality of local development.
