Pingyao speeds up build of new materials industrial park

A meeting on advancing the construction of the new China Iron & Steel Research Pingyao New Materials Industrial Park was held in Pingyao county on Dec 18, according to local officials.

Pingyao government officials and representatives of CISRI Energy Saving Technology Co discussed the construction and current progress of the park.

Shi Yong, head of Pingyao county, said he hoped the two sides would liaise closely on the industrial park's construction and give fully play to China Iron & Steel Research Institute Group's advantages in technology and experts so as to advance its completion.

Located in emerging industrial park of Pingyao economic and technological development area, the China Iron & Steel Research Pingyao New Materials Industrial Park mainly manufactures and process artificial sapphire crystals and Silicon carbide crystals as well as recycled tires. 

Currently, the civil engineering section of the park is nearing completion. 

Officials said the artificial sapphire crystal project has begun trial production and some of the equipment for the tire recycling plant has been transported to the site.
