Pingyao holds business talks with high-tech company

Pingyao county government officials met a delegation from Shanxi Yuxiang Information Technology Co on Oct 31 -- for preliminary talks about the company's high-tech product research and development and production.

The company is a high-tech services provider with a business spanning software development, computer network engineering, systems integration, systems services, security prevention engineering and industrial automation control engineering.

It has explored the new materials and new technologies sectors and cooperated with research institutes and universities -- including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Beijing Institute of Technology and Shanxi University -- on developing high-tech technologies such as carbon fuel cells and direct fuel power generation. 

Shanxi Yuxiang Information Technology Co's high-tech product project is of great significance to the upgrading and future development of companies in Pingyao county, said Shi Yong, head of Pingyao county.

He said the local government would fully support the high-tech product project. The project's site will be selected after studying local overall industrial layouts and transportation infrastructure. 

Pingyao Economic and Technological Development Zone and related government departments will provide details on services, officials said.

They said the Pingyao Modern Engineering Technical School will cooperate with the company in recruiting staff and professional training -- by establishing partnerships in discipline planning, the faculty and internship so as to improve the quality of vocational education and boost employment.
