Pingyao set to get luxury Singapore-owned resort hotel

Pingyao county is set to soon get a world-class luxury hotel, according to local officials.
They said government officials met a delegation led by Claire Chiang See Ngoh, senior vice president of Banyan Tree Holdings based in Singapore, in Pingyao county on Oct 26.
The company is a celebrated international operator and developer of premium resorts, hotels, spas and residences. As of 2019, it managed and/or owned 47 hotels and resorts, 64 spas, 75 retail galleries and three golf courses in 24 countries.
The two sides reached preliminary cooperation intention and negotiated on the matters related to the Banyan Group hotel in Pingyao.
The arrival of a Banyan Tree Holdings' hotel will further improve the existing reception capacity of inns and hotels, improve the infrastructure of tourism facilities and help polish the international tourism brand of the Ancient City of Pingyao, according to Shi Yong, head of Pingyao county.
Claire Chiang See Ngoh echoed Shi's speech at the meeting and expressed her willingness to favor the high-quality tourism development of UNESCO World Heritage Site.
