Shanxi to promote e-social security card

Shanxi province will launch an electronic social security card promotion month and a "Minsheng Shanxi" app promotion from Oct 26 to Nov 30 -- to popularize e-social security cards with the public. 

The electronic social security card is an electronic certificate for citizens who enjoy human resources and social security services. 

The "Minsheng Shanxi" app is the main channel for the issuance and utilization of electronic social security cards in Shanxi province. 

To apply for an electronic social security card, citizens must download the app first and register with their ID card and physical social security card.

The app will combine online human resources and social security services, government public services and financial services. 

It will focus on facilitating business handling -- including social security rights record consultations, online medical treatment payments, online insurance payments and online professional qualification certification.
