Pingyao moves to raise international profile abroad

Pingyao International Painting Communication Center signed a partnership agreement with the Washington International Cultural and Arts Exchange Center on Oct 16, according to local officials. 

Government officials of Pingyao county, the CEO of the Washington International Cultural and Arts Exchange Center and representatives of several overseas Chinese media agencies attended the signing ceremony. 

During the ceremony, the Pingyao painting communications center signed up with 11 Chinese media agencies in six countries. 

The aim is to allow more people from home and abroad understand Pingyao through oil painting, enabling Chinese literary and art circles to go abroad, and furthering communications with foreign professionals in painting and in other fields, officials said.
