High-powered international media agency visits Pingyao

A 22-member delegation from the World Association of Chinese Mass Media visited Pingyao county on Oct 16, according to local officials. 

The delegation toured the walls of the Ancient City of Pingyao, the Rishengchang Exchange Shop, Weitaihou Exchange Shop, South Street and the historical government office in the Ancient City of Pingyao.

Delegation members also watched the live program Another Glance at Pingyao, to get a further understanding of Pingyao culture and the culture of Shanxi merchants.

Established in Toronto in 1998, the World Association of Chinese Mass Media is an international media association with more than 160 Chinese media in 50 countries and regions. 

Organizers said tthe event aimed to improve Shanxi and Pingyao's global profile and showcase local culture, the economy and society to the world through the eyes of overseas media agencies.
