Pingyao cleans up its act to protect World Heritage site

To improve the environment of a leading UNESCO World Heritage Site – the Ancient City of Pingyao – Pingyao county has been advancing a local infrastructure renovation project through a public-private partnership, officials said. 

The renovation project includes new pipeline construction in 121 streets in the Ancient City of Pingyao. 

It also involves pipeline relocation and restoration and road reconstruction, with a total length of 30.22 kilometers. 

The reconstruction involves drainage, sewage, power and gas engineering, officials added.
