Pingyao releases new cultural products

A series of new silver jewelry products were released at the Palace Museum Cultural Innovation Center in Pingyao county on Sept 20.

The products were created by the Palace Museum Cultural Innovation Center in Pingyao and Xiongyinjiang, a time-honored gold and silver jewelry company. 

The design is based on Pingyao culture and features elements of ancient Chinese jewelry. It was inspired by the lives of people in ancient Pingyao who would walk around with armed escorts who were dedicated to the protection of property and personal safety. 

The design team hoped that the products would give visitors to the Ancient City of Pingyao an insight into the culture and history of the city. The team so far has designed more than 300 types of cultural and creative products for Pingyao. 

The Palace Museum, the largest Chinese antique museum in China, opened its first cultural innovation center outside Beijing in the Ancient City of Pingyao in March 2018. The Palace Museum Cultural Innovation Center is committed to researching and developing more innovative cultural products.
