Pingyao improves fire prevention procedures

Pingyao county observed Fire Prevention Day on Sept 9 by holding a drill and a fire prevention conference. 

Officials said the county is a key cultural and tourism spot in China and is home to 24 scenic areas, 99 historic sites, and more than 6,000 households.

The Pingyao government established Fire Prevention Day with the aim of improving fire prevention procedures and raising people’s safety awareness.

During a work conference, officials stressed that all government departments should fulfill their duty to monitor fire prevention procedures, be honest about existing problems, and work to improve the management system in order to ensure the safety of Pingyao residents.
