Overseas Chinese seek cultural root in Pingyao

More than 30 overseas Chinese teenagers from the United States visited the Ancient City of Pingyao on July 16.

They toured local major historical relic sites such as Rishengchang Exchange Shop museum and ancient government office, gaining further understanding of the UNESCO World Heritage Site with a history of over 2,700 years.

The visit to the Ancient City of Pingyao was part of a 10-day summer camp sponsored by All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. The camp aimed to let overseas young Chinese gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and learn more about Shanxi, so as to enhance their recognition of the Chinese nation.
