Tour guides show off their professional skills in Pingyao

The final of the 2019 guides competition for the Ancient City of Pingyao was held in Pingyao county on June 5, local officials said. 

The competition showcased the professional style of the county's tour guides through style displays, their narratives about spots, knowledge quizzes, a talent show, as well as how they handled various simulated situations. 

Hao Meijiao, a guide from Ancient City of Pingyao Scenic Area Management Co, topped a field of 20 entries to win first prize.

Sponsored by Ancient City of Pingyao Scenic Area Management Co, the competition aimed to further improve the overall level and skills of the guide team and improve the quality of tourism services. 

The competition was also an important event of Pingyao Ancient City Protection Promotion Week event, on  June 3-9.
