Pingyao shows off its culture, tourism charms in Shenzhen

Shanxi province showcased its innovative achievements -- in media integration, industrial integration and culture and tourism integration -- at the 15th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair held in Shenzhen, in southern Guangdong province on May 16-20. 

Pingyao county, as a pioneer in Shanxi's culture and tourism integration, proudly showed off its integration projects and cultural creative products featuring unique Pingyao culture. 

These were displayed at its exhibition area of over 30 square meters in the Shanxi pavilion. 

A model of the Ancient City of Pingyao -- combining a sand table, relief sculptures and oil paintings, highlights of festival celebrations such as the Pingyao International Photography Festival and Pingyao International Film Festival -- was also displayed at the fair, representing Pingyao's folk customs and traditional arts. 

Xue Xiaodong, a master of Pingyao polished lacquer ware, participated in a joint exhibition of 100 masters of Chinese arts and crafts at the fair. 

In addition, a cultural creative forum was organized by the Palace Museum Cultural Innovation Center in Pingyao, to promote Pingyao culture to more people in Shenzhen. 

The center also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shenzhen Chinmy Jewelry Group, the Shenzhen Graphic Design Association and the Shenzhen Jewelry Design Association. 

The China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair is the highest-level, largest and most influential exhibition in China's cultural industry. 

This year's fair consisted of nine main pavilions – including pavilions for the cultural industry, fashion design and artwork and intangible cultural heritage -- in an exhibition area covering about 105,000 square meters.
