Pingyao vocational skills training program commences

A 10-day job skills training program, which kicked off in Pingyao county in northern Shanxi province on May 3, targets improving the lives of large numbers of people, according to the organizers. 

The training is sponsored by the Pingyao human resources and social security bureau and Zhitong Training School Co. 

Officials said the project to upgrade skills is a major initiative undertaken by the Shanxi Provincial Government. 

It is designed to improve the vocational paths of people and promote their all-round development by focusing on improving the skills sets of workers, boosting their incomes and providing employment.

Officials said those who participate in the training are issued certificates by the Pingyao human resources and social security bureau. 

Officials said the vocational programs being held in the county this year aim to train a total of 7,400 people. 

Participants include urban registered unemployed, senior high school graduates who have not continued their studies in urban and rural areas and rural migrant workers. 

The Pingyao human resources and social security bureau provides free practical courses in Chinese cooking, medical care, e-commerce and training as security guards for those who are interested.
