Pingyao invites experts to boost metallurgical industry

An academic research platform focusing on new metal materials technology was established in Pingyao county on Sept 19.

Founded by Pingyao government and the work team of Ding Wenjiang, an expert on metallurgy and metal processing at Chinese Academy of Engineering, the academic workstation in Pingyao Yonghua Foundry Co will cooperate with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, North University of China and Shanxi Foundry Association on introducing and developing the aluminum-magnesium alloy industry and technological innovation.

Technological achievements of the expert team will be applied to the county's machinery and foundry sectors. The workstation will help enhance innovation ability and competitiveness of local machinery and foundry industries, and integrate industrial resources.

In addition, the research platform will introduce professionals and projects needed for the growth of the new materials industry while training local technicians, so as bring traditional industries in Pingyao into the modern age.
