Seminar on upgrading SMEs takes place in Pingyao

A seminar focusing on helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in Jinzhong transform and upgrade took place in Pingyao county on March 14.

The seminar held by the SME bureaus of Jinzhong city and Pingyao county attracted representatives from more than 30 companies in leading local companies, and 12 experts from service institutions targeting SMEs.

The experts and business representatives discussed five areas -- investment and financing, business consulting, application of scientific achievements, development plans, and further measures.

Liu Fafang, deputy director of Jinzhong SME bureau, analyzed common problems faced by SMEs in financing, entrepreneurship, and development, as well as key problems in management and operations.

He said that the bureau will integrate quality service resources to promote business matching between companies and service institutions and cultivate companies with competitive advantages.

Some 10 local companies agreed intentions for partnerships with service institutions after the seminar. Expert groups of service institutions also visited Pingyao Beef Group, based in the local area.
