Pingyao merchants discuss local development

A symposium gathering representatives of Pingyao chambers of commerce from all around China was held in Pingyao on Feb 19.

More than 60 attendees introduced the operational status quo of their chambers, discussed topics such as technological development and introduction of professionals and talents, and put forward suggestions for local socioeconomic development at the symposium.

Wang Dongguang, chairman of the Pingyao Federation of Industry and Commerce, expressed the hope that all Pinygao chambers of commerce will play a full role in connecting companies with their local governments to boost economic and industrial development.

So far, Pingyao has established quite a few chambers of commerce in cities all around China, including Wuhan, Taiyuan and Jinzhong. More Pingyao chambers are being constructed in Beijing and Shanghai, and even in Russia. There are more than 10,000 members of Pingyao chambers of commerce in China.
