Pingyao invites back former residents to boost economy

An annual meeting targeting Pingyao-born entrepreneurs in central China's Hubei province opened in the provincial capital Wuhan on Jan 27.

The meeting, hosted by Shanxi Merchants' Chamber of Commerce in Hubei province and Pingyao Chamber of commerce in Wuhan, aimed to encourage more Pingyao-born entrepreneurs and people with professional skills in Hubei to come back to Pingyao and expand business in the county –– via the platform offered by chambers of commerce.

Investment projects in Pingyao were promoted to about 500 attendees at the meeting.
