Chenghuang Temple in Pingyao county distributed free porridge to visitors on Jan 24 to celebrate Laba Festival.
The Laba Festival, a traditional Chinese festival on the eighth day of the 12th lunar month, fell on Jan 24 this year. During the festival, ancestors are remembered and people usually eat Laba porridge which is made from various ingredients, including lotus seeds, peanuts and red dates.
