Filmmakers become honorary citizens of Pingyao

Two noted filmmakers, Jia Zhangke and Marco Muller, were made honorary citizens of Pingyao at a government meeting on Dec 7 –– in recognition of their contribution to promoting Pingyao's global reputation.

The two devoted themselves to the first Pingyao International Film Festival held from Oct 28 to Nov 4, helping develop local tourism and culture and increasing the county’s global profile and influence.
