Pingyao residents show Yang-style tai chi

A Yang-style tai chi show organized by the Pingyao Tai Chi Association was held in Pingyao county on Oct 18.

More than 400 participants from 30 teams took part in the show to promote the traditional Chinese martial art.

Tai chi is an internal Chinese martial art practiced for both its defense training and its health benefits. Yang-style Tai Chi created by Yang Luchan from Hebei province has a history dating back some 170 years. His descendants have developed and promoted his martial art with 36 Yang-style Tai Chi centers operating all around the world.
