Foreign writers seek inspiration in Pingyao

A delegation of foreign writers visited Pingyao county on Sept 24, witnessing the history and culture of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The delegates come from more than 10 countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Ecuador and Australia.

They toured the Ancient City of Pingyao and Hengpo village, an ancient village in the county, in company with local enthusiasts of literary and arts, furthering their understanding of the historic value of the Ancient City of Pingyao, culture of Shanxi merchants and rural tourism.

These foreign writers said they will showcase Pingyao to the world through their writing and help facilitate communication between Pingyao and other countries.
