Shanxi TCM e-commerce fair opens in Pingyao

The Shanxi Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) E-Commerce Fair opened in Pingyao, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a history dating back 2,700 years, on Sept 19.

This is the first TCM e-commerce fair to be based in Shanxi.

The event included a TCM healthcare and tourism street, and an e-commerce fair which will develop a whole industrial chain to consist of a trade fair, production companies and bases, cooperatives, agents, storage and logistics, protection for TCM culture by making full use of an online e-commerce platform, and the combination of TCM with tourism to add new tourist attractions to Pingyao.

The launch ceremony for Shanxi Traditional Chinese Medicine E-Commerce Fair is held in Pingyao county on Sept 19. Before the launch ceremony, guests visited a local TCM industrial demonstration park which included a planting base, testing center, a processing base for prepared TCM ingredients, and a TCM storage base. Officials from Shanxi Provincial Government, Jinzhong city and Pingyao county visit TCM Healthcare and Tourism Street in the county on Sept 19. The group also visited Shanxi TCM culture museum, Shanxi Jintang medicine logistics center, and other TCM facilities. [Photo/pingyao.gov.cn]
