Tertiary sector in Pingyao grows steadily

Pingyao recorded strong economic growth during the first half of 2017, with the added value of the tertiary sector reaching 2.86 billion yuan ($425.11 million), up 7.6 percent year-on-year.

The county has recently been transforming its recession-hit industries. From 2013 to 2016, the contribution of the tertiary sector to GDP has seen considerable improvements.

In the first half of 2017, the added value of the tertiary sector accounted for 56.45 percent of GDP, 17.9 percentage points higher than the secondary sector, and helped GDP increase by 4.5 percentage points –– a major contributor to the local economy.
