Foreign experts tour Pingyao

A group of foreign experts and scholars currently working in China toured Pingyao from June 19 and 20 to learn of how the local government has enacted policies to develop the county.

The foreign guests discussed various topics with Shanxi officials, such as the election of government officials and the balance between preserving traditions and developing the economy.

Following a symposium organized by the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the group also visited local tourist attractions, including the Rishengchang Exchange Shop, and watched a live theatre performance of Another Glance at Pingyao, a play depicting scenes from the county's history.
