Leading tourism business favors Pingyao

Officials from Pingyao county met with Miao Zhuang, CEO of Overseas Chinese Town (OCT) Tourism Investment Management Co, on May 24 for discussions on tourism collaboration between the two sides.

OCT Tourism Investment Management, a subsidiary of OCT Group, reached an agreement with Pingyao on March 29, promising to offer management services and operation of tourist attractions, plus consultations for the development of local tourism.

The two sides furthered communication in fields like Pingyao’s tourism resources, improvement of the management of local tourist attractions, investment in tourism projects and promotion of Pingyao's tourism industry during the meeting.

"The Ancient city of Pingyao is a typical Shanxi tourist site. More efforts should be made with infrastructure and services at tourist attractions," said Miao Zhuang, CEO of OCT Tourism Investment Management Co.

"We will help explore the local traditions of Shanxi merchants, improve tour guides' services and promote the image of Pingyao as a UNESCO World Heritage Site," he added.

Overseas Chinese Town Group based in Shenzhen is a leading company in China's tourism industry with operations in 33 Chinese cities. The group, which owns many resorts, theme parks and hotels, has so far handled some 350 million tourists, more than any other tour operator in Asia.
