Attendees of the fifth China-Mongolia-Russia Mayors' Summit on the "Tea Road" visited Qixian county and Yuci district in Jinzhong on May 18, to further discover the role of Shanxi merchants in establishing the trade route.

The group visited the local Tea Road Museum, Qiao's Family Compound and Chang Family Manor, learning about the famous Shanxi merchants' life stories in pioneering the ancient trade route. They also viewed Chinese traditional tea ceremonies and exhibitions themed around the Tea Road.

The visitors were impressed by the business achievements of the Shanxi merchants and their spirit of adventure, courage and persistence. Many visitors mentioned that cities along the Tea Road could learn from Shanxi merchants, explore local cultures and develop tourism.

The representatives of China, Mongolia and Russia took part in a founding ceremony for Qixian county's Tea Road post house situated at Qianchao Valley International Tourism Resort during the visit.
